最近看了一位苏格兰爱丁堡的人为他的CDX2/202/200挑选音箱的记录,可做参考,当然其中包含苏格兰人个人的口味倾向。
试听对象有一堆:ProAC D15,Spendor S8e和S9e,Harbeth 7ES,Sonus Faber Auditors,ELAC,PMC OB1,Living Voice Auditoriums,Living Voice Avatar-II,Neat Mystique,Neat Elites SE,ATC SCM35,Martin-Logan Clarity,Wilson Benesch ARC。

ok 24hrs in and I've given the ATC SCM35 a good listen since getting in from work. I like them a lot.
Beautiful detail, tight bass all the notes in the right places ( or should I say at the right times). They really shook the place with 'The Real Me' off Quadraphenia by The Who (Keith Moon's drumming on that track is amazing but that's another story...). And the rain at the beginning made me think we'd sprung a leak! The sock is officially off!
I can't detect any problem with the 200 driving them (at least not at the levels I listen at - between 8 & 9pm with CDs). They sound plenty loud but then again I'm not a punk any more.
The good thing for me is that I think I could easily buy and enjoy these speakers even if nothing else I look at in the coming weeks does the business - or I do my back in lifting cabinets The ATCs are 4X HEAVY.
The Neat Mystiques are back in for now but sound thin in comparison ( quelle surprise) but definitely very musical. I still intend to try and get hold of a pair of Neat Elite SE's but I suspect the bass extension of the ATCs will win the day there.
I am surprised to hear the 200 is coping with the 35. That's cool.
If nothing emerges from all that, I could happily live with the ATC's.
The ATC's do like to be a little louder than the Living Voice Avatars but not overly so. To my ears they sound v. good at a normal 'listening' level (9'oclock on a 202/200), but do constrict a little earlier as you reduce the volume towards a 'background' mode. Not so much as to be a big factor in our decision but if you listen a lot at rather low levels you might feel differently.
The choice between the ATC SCM35 and the Avatars has not been an easy one. These are both great loudspeakers. The Avatars have a delicacy of presentation which is beguiling, sound good at low volume, and look very elegant. The ATCs can rock it up, play all kind of music in a convincing way and have great low end grunt. On the down side they need a bit more volume to come to life.
In the end the balance came out in favour of the Avatars but only by a whisker
最后喜好的天平虽然倾向了Living Voice,但只是有胡须般微弱的优势。
