忧愁河上的桥（Bridge Over Troubled Water）
保尔·赛蒙和阿特·伽芬克尔自1965年底《寂静之声》上榜以后，一直被公认为最佳二重唱组，但他们两人的关系一直很紧张，甚至发展到彼此不愿在录音棚同期录音。《忧愁河上的桥》就是两人分开录唱的。
1969年夏，他们在筹划推出新的唱片专辑，赛蒙为专辑写了这首主题歌，歌中唱道：“当你身处逆境，当你心情沮丧，我来为你擦干眼泪，我会在你身旁，我会俯身化作桥梁，让你渡过忧愁河。”歌词最初只有两段，伽芬克尔建议添了第三段。事后，赛蒙认为增加的那一段与前两段是不匹配的。
伴奏带在洛杉矶录制，歌唱部分却是回到纽约完成的。歌曲在1970年2月登上榜首，长达6周，并获金唱片。同年，这张专辑唱片以及这首歌获得6项格莱密奖。
