One of the reasons it has been possible to re-issue the recordings from the Lyrita catalogue is that Wyastone, the manufacturer and distributor for Lyrita, uses a short run manufacturing system making CD-R copies rather than going to the extra expense of using traditional CD manufacturing. So, all the Lyrita discs from now on will be CD-Rs rather than conventionally pressed CDs. There is no compromise in the quality of the discs - CD-Rs sound exactly the same as normal CDs - and the lower running expenses have allowed us to revive this major catalogue.
