Dear Mr. Patrick,
There is a difference between i-7 and i-7 RS. The i-7 RS is built for export market and follow rules and regulation in Europe and Asia: The RS series is built RoHS (without lead inside) and the PC board are with a different thickness (higher).
The i-7 is built for the American continent who the RoHS is not mandatory (for the moment).
Now, your next question will be (I am sure!):
Is there any sonic difference between the 2?
Honestly, some people said yes for the RS series and other think no. In the audio field, tastes are different, as you know.
