在这张唱片中，马友友与意大利国宝级配乐大师颜尼欧莫瑞克奈合作演出电影配乐。这是一张非常值得去聆听的唱片。作曲家对曲目进行了改编以更好地配合大提琴的演奏，为马友友的大提琴设置了最佳的乐章切入点，让马友友跟他的大提琴有最精彩的挥洒与表达的空间。在电影教会的曲目演绎中，马友友更是把那种哀莫大于心死的感叹表达地淋漓尽致。同样，cinema paradiso中的那段亦是让人感慨万千。不得不佩服大师的演绎水准，马友友对于揉弦的应用大大地增强了音乐的感染力和表现力。
