Beethoven
Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) was and remains today, a remarkable figure in the history of classical music. His influence on the last 170 years of music is unequaled. His story is one of personal triumph over tragedy and supreme musical achievement. This German devoted all his life to the belief of "freedom, equality and fraternity". He wrote 32 piano concertos, 9 symphonies
and 17 string instrumental quartets in his life.
