LP收藏中的一个谣言 [复制链接]

感谢各位DX的意见。

可以肯定的是，Decca和London两种盘芯肯定都存在“Pancake”的这种Groove紧挨label边缘的版本的。按我的观察，这种情况的确比较多出现在London之中而Decca的则相对少一些。所以我相信这种现象的确能反映一些趋势。

Decca常见的那种离边缘1.5厘米的深沟的样式，的确是为了防止唱针滑进label的，并且这是RCA申请的专利。至于那个年代的唱针为什么会容易滑进label，这个问题我也不太清楚。

这是英国一个卖二手唱片的Dealer对label的说明（网址：http://www.lpclassics.co.uk）。

意思如下：
ED1即指有深沟的，宽标带（felixcat注：指的是label上半部那条横着的银色的标签的宽度），在label十点钟位置印有“original recording”等字样。

Decca SXL系列的Pancake版：和上述基本一样，只是LP外边缘并没有通常的那种稍稍的凸起（felixcat注：这种凸起是为了防止唱针滑出唱片之外），并且label有一条凸起，紧挨着label的外边缘。

以上两种label可以说是等同的，它们之间的区别仅仅是在制造的时候用哪种母版来压制。

ED2 指的是在十点钟位置有”Made in England“等字样；

ED3 指的是没有深沟的那些。ng = none grooved。

后面跟的那些字句不是说Decca的了，不译。我补充一点的是：不能完全相信这一些卖LP的人的话，因为他们所介绍的都是希望别人看了之后想买他的货物，所以他们可以用一些模棱两可的字眼去试图蒙混顾客的眼睛。

比如上面他所说的，我想一想就觉得不妥：Pancake的和ED1的不可能是等同的，因为就算连单声道的LP都有分前期的Pancake的和后期的有Groove的，至少时间上来讲不可能两者完全等同，不然的话怎样解释为何London里面的Pancake版这么多，而Decca的Pancake版则相对少一些呢？

这个卖LP的人肯定不敢说Pancake版的是最早的，因为他手中的货品没几张是Pancake的，假如他真说有Groove的那些其实要比Pancake的晚，那么将没有人会花几百美元去买一张第二版的唱片，那他手中的货物是一张都卖不掉的。所以这种看上去导向性这么勉强的宣传话语我是相当怀疑的。

看了熱心的您這一篇, 我特別再去翻我的DECCA, 和為數不多的LONDON,
也看到了所謂的Pancake版的London, 但是說真的, 我也不知道.
可以提供的意見, 大概僅限於我自己的認識,
上面一段說到, 壓片的廠沒有分別, 只是最後的標籤的不同,
而我是比較認同這一種說法的,
我曾仔細比較過幾張London和大DECCA,
如Ashkenazy,Larrocha的一些片子和Mazzel指揮的作品,
說真的, 在我自己的系統上完全分不出音色有任何差異,

在我有限的收藏中, 實在不曾看過有比Pancake版更早的London,
讓我對 " 還有比Pancake更早版 "這一點頗為懷疑,
當然, 可能我自己的推測是錯誤的. 自己孤陋寡聞也是很有可能.
面對London比較亂的現象, DECCA顯然容易多了,
不管是Blue-Back, ED1, ED2, ED3或是再要細分是不是早期的ED1和晚期的,
都不致於要花上太多時間. 我想, 從純聽音樂的角度出發的話, London很好
若是有心要收集, 那DECCA似乎是比較好的選擇, 呵呵, 這或許有助敗的嫌疑
但DECCA貴過同期London也是不爭的事實.

I ran into 6 big London LPs last weekend at a thrift store. Three were "pancake" version while 3 were not.

This is the first time I saw those earliest London stereo LPs. Alone with other grooved London's I had, seems like the pancake version has groove that is 2mm from the edge, while the groove of non-pancake version is 15 mm from the edge. Is that a correct equivalence?
