I have heard the Nighthawk SE in my system compared to the Jasmine LP2.0 SE and it was no contest with the Jasmine clearly superior. This is also the opinion of three other guys there for a vinyl session who all felt the Nighthawk, while having nice detail, did not have the body, fullness, bass or refinement from top to bottom as did the Jasmine.
There are many who own and enjoy the Nighthawk and I almost bought one. I'm sure I would be happy with it but I discovered the Jasmine and that solidified it for me. No offense to Nighthawk owners but what I am hearing is simply better IMO.
213Cobra (Phil) is accurate in his statements about the Jasmine and that is why I now own two of them. When reading his comments it is easy to understand why the Jasmine was better than the Nighthawk, Manley and other phono stages. Frankly, I was stunned at how good the Jasmine is and plan to buy a third one. OK, I have three turntables and I'm lazy
but in addition to the foregoing phono preamps, I've also heard Bellari,
Rega, Ear (two models), dynavector, hagerman and a couple others. I'm very happy with Jasmine.
System synergy is important and perhaps my system just fits with the Jasmine. I don't know but 213cobra and I do not share any other electronics and have the same results.
