The winners of the 2006 Classic FM Gramophone Awards - regarded as the Oscars of the classical music world - have today been unveiled in a ceremony at London's Dorchester Hotel.

The prestigious Record of the Year award was this year given to Claudio Abbado's recording of Mahler's 6th Symphony, with the Berlin Philharmonic on DG.

Magnus Lindberg - Clarinet Concerto with Kari Kriikku, the Finnish RSO and conductor Sakari Oramo on Ondine.

Szymanowski - Piano Works with Piotr Anderszewski on Virgin Classics.

Wagner - Siegfried with conductor Joseph Keilberth at the
Bayreuth Festival on Testament.

The Artist of the Year Award - as voted for by Gramophone readers - was given to Canadian pianist Angela Hewitt.

The Classic FM's Listeners' Choice Award was given to young trumpeter Alison Balsom, signed to EMI.

The Editor's Choice Award - given by Gramophone's editor James Inverne - went to Gerald Finley's Stanford Songs of the Sea with BBC NOW, conducted by Richard Hickox and released by Chandos.

Label of the Year in Association with SFH UK Ltd was named as Virgin Classics

唱个反调：
今天再次捧出这枚最新出炉的留声机大奖唱片，认真聆听一遍，仍旧感到，口味太淡，风格太软，音场太靠后，太有隔膜感。
阿巴多在成功的卢赛恩马勒2之后，一再追求这种淡淡不知所终的口味，楞把马勒弄成了德彪西。也许马勒9是一个例外。
